I am a freelance costume designer and stylist originally from the DC metro area, though I have been calling LA home for over a decade. I've honed my craft learning from top designers in the industry, including Jeffrey Kurland and Deborah Hopper. To date, I've designed 5 features and over 75 (and counting) commercials. My newest project is co-founding the lifestyle blog, Soma & Ulte.
My formal MFA training is from UCLA's Costume Design program, but I draw inspiration from everywhere. My undergraduate studies in Psychology and Studio Art at the University of Virginia continue to influence the way I analyze characters and design my work. Coming from a family of movie lovers and collectors, it is no wonder that I was born and bred to do my job. I never tire of diving into the world, making mood boards, and dissecting the characters and the story. Being professional is of utmost importance to me, but I also think collaboration is fun.
Looking forward to collaborating with you!
